Parque Zonal Huáscar: Depending on who you ask, either an anomaly or an oasis in the middle of the dust and sand of Villa el Salvador. The park boasts 53 hectares of luscious green grass and trees, numerous sports fields, a swimming pool, a mini-zoo, amphitheater, horses, picnic areas, playgrounds and metropolitan Lima’s largest artificial lake. The entrance fee is 1.50 soles (0.50 dollar cents) for adults and 0.50 Peruvian cents (0.15 dollar cents) for children. While this may seem like very little, for most in Villa a family day at the park is beyond their means, or at the very least an extravagant day out. Military-style policemen guard the gates and patrol the grounds.
