Country Life - Lurin, Peru
23 mrt. 2009
🇵🇪
Lurin, Peru, about 35 km from Lima.
The family we visited live and work on the property.
To reach this house we had to take a combi-bus to Lurin and then a very long, very bumpy moto-taxi ride up into the hillside along a dusty dirt path.
The family lives in a small, 2 room shack (not in this picture). The buildings in this photo are where the owner of the land lives when he's there.
The upside of this arrangement, the family says, is the space and the clean air in which to raise the kids. The downside is the isolation and lack of mobility!
Notice the Inca Cola in the foreground. Recently bought out by Coca Cola, Inca Cola was one of the few (or only??) drinks to out-sell Coca Cola up until a few years ago.
